Carbondale woman arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI)- On March 21, 2024, the City of Carbondale police officers responded to the 900 block of East Grand Avenue for a report of a person brandishing a firearm during a dispute.
Officers found a group of individuals engaged in an argument.
As they were investigating, officers heard a gunshot near their location.
Officers eventually located two loaded firearms that had been discarded in the area.
Investigating officers arrested Kaliyah D. Parker, 23 of Carbondale for Unlawful Use of a Weapon and No Firearm Owners Identification Card.
Parker was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
