Missouri mother says she ‘will never stop fighting for justice’ after son’s death in Madison County

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (KBSI) – Sunday, July 21, 2024, marked the two-year anniversary since the body of Timmy Dees was found in Madison County.

His mother Barbara Hall continues to keep his memory alive and fight for the justice she says her son and others deserve.

She’s experienced every mother’s worst nightmare and she’s talking about it with whoever will listen.

Just 8 months after she lost her first son, she learned her second son was now missing. She recalls what she was feeling the day she made a missing person’s report on Timmy.

I went to church that Tuesday, and I came home from church, and I got deathly sick. I mean I was deathly sick because he wasn’t answering my phone calls and he wasn’t answering my texts and that wasn’t like him. After Micheal had died, I talked to Timmy daily. So, for me not to have heard from him…. idk I got sick I’m not kidding you, I got sick, and I thought “something’s wrong.”

Sadly, Hall was right. Something was wrong, and Hall would never see 25-year-old Timmy Dees again.

She filed a missing person’s report on February 28, 2021 with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She then made signs, posters, and handed out flyers to whoever would listen.

Hall learned that Timmy had made a 911 call that stated, “My friend is chasing me,” the night of his disappearance. She says her son wouldn’t call 911 without being extremely scared.

For Timmy to make that 911 call he was scared. That was our family you just didn’t involve the police in your business unless it was life threatening. So, for him to do that he had to have been scared and that bothers me. To think that my son was scared like that. Thats a tough one.”

According to Hall, several of Timmy’s friends that he was with the night of his disappearance were taken in for questioning but were later released.

Barbara says she doesn’t care how long it takes she won’t stop fighting for justice for her son.

I’m not going away, and for a PI and a lawyer to tell me that I’m going to end up dead…well then they’re going to have to kill me to go away.”

According to police reports, Madison County has had an unusual amount of suicides and missing people in the recent years. Hall says she’s no longer just fighting for justice for her son but for other parents as well, and she says she does it in the name of Timmy

To do something good, because that’s what he would want, it’s not about me it’s about what he would he want.”
