GREEN BAY, Wis., (KBSI) — KI has announced the four winners of its fourth annual K–12 Classroom Furniture Giveaway, a national program designed to help educators create learning spaces that enhance student engagement, inclusivity, flexibility and sensory support.
More than 131,000 votes were cast nationwide for 12 finalists. Four teachers — one from each finalist category: eastern region, central region, western region and libraries — were selected to receive $50,000 worth of KI furniture to redesign their classrooms or school library media centers.
This year’s winners are:
- Khadijah Mosely, Hornets Nest Elementary School, Charlotte, North Carolina
- Andy Goveia, Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School, Normal, Illinois
- Angelyn “Ms. Jelly” Obray, Northridge High School, Layton, Utah
- Lisa Floyd, Twin Rivers High School, Broseley, Missouri
“These educators dreamed big, and their designs reflect how deeply they understand their students’ needs and how committed they are to creating meaningful learning experiences,” said Bryan Ballegeer, KI’s vice president of education markets. “We’re honored to help turn their visions into inspiring spaces and grateful to the communities nationwide who rallied behind them by voting.”
Educators entered the contest by developing their ideal learning environments using KI’s Classroom Planner Tool. Highlights from the winning designs include:
Mosely’s STEM classroom features ample storage and multifunctional furniture that supports various seating postures, creating a dynamic learning environment.
Goveia’s social sciences classroom blends active and collaborative areas with flexible seating to support both connection and quiet recharge time for students.
Ms. Jelly’s special education classroom focuses on exploratory learning with movable, adaptable furniture designed to meet a wide range of student needs.
Floyd’s library media center transforms the space into a warm, collaborative hub where students can gather, create, share ideas and learn in ways that suit them best.
Each winner will also receive a three-pack of Thesis Battery Powered Modules provided by Byrne. Installation of the new classroom furniture is expected to begin in early 2026.
Eight runners-up will each receive a Civara task chair. Additional information about the contest and this year’s winners is available at Fourth Annual Classroom Giveaway | KI.
