PULASKI COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Dixon man was arrested Monday following a rollover investigation that led to the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine and weapons, authorities said.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded Dec. 15 to a report of a vehicle rollover in the 19000 block of Highway Y in Dixon. Deputies, assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, located evidence of a crash but found no vehicle or injured individuals at the scene.
Authorities said a Missouri driver’s license belonging to Anthony Rand of Dixon was found nearby. Deputies and troopers conducted a search of the surrounding area to locate the vehicle and any possible occupants.
During the search, investigators located a backpack several yards from the crash site. The backpack appeared to have been deliberately placed and contained identification and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Three weapons and suspected narcotics were found placed next to the backpack, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rand was arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges.
The suspected narcotics were field-tested using an APEX 7 tester and later weighed at the sheriff’s office. Authorities said the substances included approximately 52 grams of methamphetamine and 26 grams of cocaine.
The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group. Rand is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law, authorities said.
