Developing sinkhole closes portion of Walnut Street in Zeigler

ZEIGLER, Ill., (KBSI) — A section of Walnut Street near the intersection of Coxspur Street has been closed because of a developing sinkhole, according to the Zeigler Police Department.

City street department crews have blocked off the affected area while officials assess the situation.

Motorists are urged to use caution and seek alternate routes if possible.

No information was immediately available regarding when the roadway will reopen.
