SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – One person is now in custody after a nearly two hour standoff in the Rockview area near Chaffee.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at about 8:23 a.m. from a property owner saying he heard a gunshot after telling the occupant of the property he would need to move.

Louis Keller fired several more shots while deputies were en route, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found Keller had barricaded inside a small camper he was staying in on the property.

While the Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol crisis negotiators tried talking to Keller, he fired several more rounds out of the camper, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team deployed several different measures to peaceful resolve the situation.

About 10:29 a.m., Keller came out of the camper.

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

No one was injured. Law enforcement cleared the scene at around 11 a.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Conservation Department, and North Scott Ambulance District assisted.
