Bell City firefighters respond to false fire alarm

BELL CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Bell City Fire Rescue responded to a reported fire alarm activation Wednesday morning and determined there was no emergency at the scene.
According to the department, crews were dispatched at approximately 8:15 a.m. to a building within the city after receiving a report of a general fire alarm activation.
Upon arrival, firefighters conducted an initial assessment and found no visible signs of fire, smoke or other emergency conditions. Crews then entered the structure and completed a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the alarm.
Firefighters checked the building for signs of fire, heat, smoke and other hazards while coordinating with the alarm company and business representatives who responded to the scene.
Following the investigation, officials determined there was no active fire or emergency and classified the incident as a false alarm.
The scene was secured and all responding units returned to service.
Bell City Fire Rescue said every fire alarm activation is treated as a potential emergency and requires a prompt response to ensure public safety and protect property.
