Cape Noon Optimist Club awards scholarships to eight local seniors

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Noon Optimist Club awarded eight graduating seniors $1,000 scholarships during a meeting May 6.

Officials said the 2026 Steve Wright Scholarships recognize students for their academic achievement, leadership, character and commitment to their futures.

This year’s recipients are Brume Osiohwo, Joe Cao, Tali Rendshaw, Allie McKee, Maria Seyer, Samuel Carter, Noah Simpson and Benjamin Friedrich.

Club members said the scholarship program reflects their mission to support and encourage young people in the community.
