Historic building lost in Friday morning fire in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — The Poplar Bluff Fire Department said the city lost another historic building following a fire Friday morning.
Fire officials said all firefighters and personnel involved at the scene returned home safely.
The department thanked community leaders, city departments and local businesses for assisting crews throughout the response.
Officials specifically recognized Chief Kiersey, Heartland Express, Subway, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and Frankie Casteel for providing food, drinks, radio announcements and additional support during the incident.
The department also thanked the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office along with the city’s street, motor pool, utilities, planning and police departments for their assistance.
Additional details about the fire and the building involved were not immediately released.
