Man with ‘extensive criminal history’ arrested after meth, other drugs found

 

NEW CONCORD, Ky. (KBSI) – A Louisville man faces several drug charges in Calloway County after a traffic stop.

Charles Warren, 36, of Louisville faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine 2nd or greater offense (Class B felony), trafficking controlled substance 2nd degree-suboxone (Class D felony), trafficking marijuana 2nd or greater offense (Class D felony), possession of controlled substance 1st degree – cocaine (Class D felony), possession of controlled substance 1st degree – LSD (Class D felony), possession of controlled sub. 1st degree – Oxycodone (Class D felony), possession of controlled substance 3rd degree – Diazepam, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, failure to appear – Hart County, Ky., failure to appear- Bullitt County, Ky. and failure to appear- Jefferson County, Ky.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle in the New Concord near Cypress Harbor Drive and Lax Drive for traffic violations on Saturday, February 3.

The driver, Warren, was confirmed to have three outstanding warrants for his arrest.

While deputies tried to arrest Warren, they say he tried to flee from law enforcement, but was quickly apprehended and arrested.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found about 233.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine (just over a half-pound), 55 Suboxone pills, 40.5 grams of marijuana, digital weight scales, and $5,471 in cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales, according to the deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputies say cocaine, LSD, Oxycodone, Diazepam and numerous other drug paraphernalia items related to drug trafficking were also found in the vehicle.

Warren has an extensive criminal history with numerous convictions of trafficking or manufacturing methamphetamine dating back to 2006.

Deputies say he has been a source of supply for large quantities of crystal meth in the west Kentucky and west Tennessee area for a lengthy period of time.

Warren was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
