SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Sikeston man was sentenced to 52 years behind bars on July 17 after he was found guilty of drug charges.

Andrew J. Sales Jr. was found guilty on April 4 of trafficking drugs – 2nd degree, possession of controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution and two additional counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers executed a search warrant on February 10, 2022 and recovered a large amount of methamphetamine.

A Scott County jury found Sales guilty on all counts on April 4 a two day trial. The Honorable Scott Lipke was the Judge assigned.

On July 17, Judge Scott Lipke sentenced Sales to 30 years for trafficking drugs – 2nd degree, 15 years for possession of controlled substance, 7 years on tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution and fines for the additional counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

All sentences are to run consecutively for a total of 52 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections

“I am very satisfied with the result and I believe it is the appropriate outcome given Mr. Sales extensive criminal history,” said Scott County Prosecuting Attorney Donald R. Cobb.
