PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — Law enforcement officers seized suspected fentanyl and other drugs during an investigation in Waynesville, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation took place during the evening of March 7 when members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG), along with detectives and deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Waynesville Police Department, executed a narcotics search warrant in the 600 block of West Historic Route 66.
During the search, officers located and seized about 25 grams of suspected fentanyl along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said the search warrant followed a disturbance call earlier at the same address. During that response, officers with the Waynesville Police Department searched a suspect and seized about 8 grams of suspected fentanyl, 22 oxycodone pills and a handgun.
The suspect, Samuel E. Sloas II, was arrested and taken to the Pulaski County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.
Sloas faces potential charges including second-degree domestic assault, first-degree drug trafficking, distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance.
Authorities said multiple agencies worked together during the investigation as part of efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking in the community.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
