Lows tonight will be mild once again, with overnight temperatures staying in the 60s.
Even with clear skies on Saturday evening, Cape Girardeau may not get below 60 degrees during the overnight hours.
We will see another chance at a record high on Sunday for several spots across the viewing area. Above are a few numbers to know heading into Sunday.
Highs on Sunday will be 20+ degrees above average for the Heartland. Most of us will see the 80s, but a few may get to the lower 90s.
We look to shatter our record high in Cape tomorrow, with afternoon temperatures expected in the upper 80s.
We stay dry through the day according to the latest runs of StormCast, with short-range models skeptical of our chance for storms late on Sunday.
Long-range models still show a chance for precipitation Sunday night, particularly for the northeastern portion of the viewing area.
There is still a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather on Sunday evening. An isolated severe storm or two could produce large hail and damaging winds.
Sunday evening’s cold front will knock temperatures back down into the 50s and 60s to start the week, though we do warm up by Wednesday. Several chances for showers and potentially a thunderstorm or two are also in the forecast for the back half of the work week.
