CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – Officials have announced several storm shelters will be open Monday as severe weather is expected across the area.
Southeast Missouri:
Scott City: FEMA building, 3000 Main St.
Opens at 4:30 p.m. and will remain open as needed
No pets or smoking allowed
Jackson: Jackson Civic Center safe room
Open during any tornado watch or warning
No pets allowed, per FEMA guidelines
Western Kentucky:
Murray: Racer Arena at Murray State University
Located on 14th Street between Olive and Payne streets
Opens at 8 p.m.
Officials urge residents to monitor weather updates, have multiple ways to receive alerts and review emergency plans as storms move through the region.
