Cape Girardeau Soap Box Derby winners headed to world championship in Akron

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Rotary Club hosted its 27th annual Soap Box Derby on May 2.
Officials said first-place winners Zander Nelson in the Stock division and Eli Fortner in the Super Stock division will advance to the 2026 Soap Box Derby World Championship in Akron in July.
Other top finishers included Mariella Koenig, who placed second in Super Stock; Ashton Busch, second in Stock; Vincent LaNeave, third in Super Stock; Easton McKinney, third in Stock; Cole Shelton, fourth in Super Stock; and Brently Davis, fourth in Stock.
