Boil water advisory issued for portions of Jackson following water main repair

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for several streets in Jackson following an emergency water main repair.
According to the City of Jackson, the advisory affects Otto Drive from Donna Drive to Old Cape Road, Old Cape Road from Otto Drive to Donna Drive, all of Charlotte Court and Donna Drive from Old Cape Road to East Jackson Boulevard.
City officials said the advisory was issued after crews repaired a water main break at the intersection of Otto Drive and Old Cape Road. Water service has been restored to all affected properties.
A boil water advisory is issued when there is a possibility that drinking water contamination could occur, often following water main breaks or low-pressure events. Officials emphasized that the advisory is precautionary and that no contamination has been confirmed.
Residents in the affected area are advised to boil water before consuming it until the advisory is lifted.
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice. City officials said updates, including notification when the advisory is canceled, will be provided through local media outlets and city communication channels.
