29 new COVID-19 cases in Franklin, Williamson counties

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – There are 29 new cases of COVID-19 in Franklin and Williamson counties, according to the Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department in a report released on Oct. 8.

The newly confirmed cases by gender, age and county are as follows.

Franklin County

Females:

  • 1 under 10
  • 3 teenagers
  • 2 in their 20s
  • 2 two in their 30s
  • 1 in her 50s
  • 3 in their 60s

Males:

  • 1 preteen
  • 1 in his 30s
  • 2 in their 50s

Williamson County

Females

  • 1 infant
  • 1 under 10
  • 1 teenager
  • 1 in her 40s
  • 1 in her 70s

Males:

  • 1 under 6
  • 2 in their 20s
  • 1 in his 30s
  • 2 in their 40s
  • 1 in his 60s
  • 1 in his 90s

These individuals are believed to have acquired the disease through either local contact with known cases, social gatherings, church settings, community events or through transmission in the community (i.e. unable to trace back to a known source). Public health officials will not be releasing more specific details about these individuals due to privacy issues.

  • *12,084 laboratory confirmed positives
  • 158* deaths
  • 11,478* have recovered

Franklin County

  • *7,326 laboratory confirmed positives
  • 99* deaths
  • 6,869* have recovered
