City of Cape Girardeau hires new Visit Cape destination strategy manager

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Cape Girardeau has hired Jeanne Muckerman as the new destination strategy manager for Visit Cape.

Muckerman will begin the role Aug. 17.

As destination strategy manager, Muckerman will lead efforts to strengthen Cape Girardeau’s tourism industry by advancing destination development, building partnerships with local businesses and organizations, and implementing strategies to enhance the visitor experience and support long-term economic growth.

She brings experience in destination and community development, strategic partnerships, tourism and event leadership, community engagement, economic development and relationship management.

“We are excited to welcome Jeanne to our team,” City Manager Dr. Kenneth Haskin said. “Jeanne has a remarkable work ethic, high energy, and the ability to get things done. That’s exactly what we seek when recruiting personnel for this City.”

Muckerman will work with hospitality partners, attractions, event organizers and business leaders to identify opportunities to strengthen tourism assets, support sustainable growth and expand Cape Girardeau’s visitor economy.
