Hayti police warn public of active shooter situation in Caruthersville

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are assisting the Caruthersville Police Department with a barricaded subject Thursday, according to Sgt. Clark Parrott.

Parrott said authorities believe the individual involved is Zachary Walker.

The response comes after the Hayti Police Department issued a public warning advising residents to avoid the Caruthersville area due to what was initially described as an active shooter situation.

Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether any injuries have been reported.

Law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies remain on the scene as the situation continues to unfold.
