VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Students in health classes at Vienna High School recently showcased their knowledge through a hands-on project focused on human body systems.
The project, led by instructor Megan Blaylock, required students to work in groups to create displays representing systems such as the cardiovascular and digestive systems.
Projects were evaluated on accuracy, key information and teamwork.
School officials said the assignment was designed to give students a more interactive way to apply what they have learned in the classroom while encouraging collaboration and critical thinking.
Several groups received recognition for their work.
Students Skyli Zinn, Kensley Perry and Shelby Jenkins earned the “Most Informative” award for accuracy and detail. Mason Kissiar, Alex Board and Sam Sevenski were named “Most Realistic” for design and presentation.
Kaden Moore, Kloe Pierce and Lakota Blankenship received “Best in Show” for overall excellence.
Blaylock said the project allowed students to bring their learning to life through creativity and teamwork.
Principal John Giffin said projects like this help students move beyond memorization and demonstrate a deeper understanding of the material.
