Carbondale police arrest man after disturbance call
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — A 26-year-old man from Mableton, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday night after a disturbance call in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane.
City of Carbondale police officers responded to the call at 10:17 p.m. and learned that Marques A. Estes was involved in a physical dispute with an acquaintance.
When officers attempted to arrest Estes, he resisted but was taken into custody without further incident.
A firearm was found in Estes’ possession, which officers determined had been illegally converted to fire automatically.
Estes was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and resisting a peace officer.
He was jailed in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
