Carbondale Mayor issues Juneteenth proclamation
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Mayor Carolin Harvey has issued a proclamation declaring June 19, 2025, as Juneteenth in the city of Carbondale.
The proclamation recognizes the significance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It also acknowledges the contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout the nation’s history.
