Man detained, charged after incident at Carbondale business
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Police responded to a report of an armed man at a business on West Main Street on June 28, 2025.
Officers detained James P. Eversole, 62, of Carbondale, and found a loaded firearm concealed on him. Eversole didn’t have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card or a Concealed Carry License.
The investigation revealed Eversole arrived at the business on a stolen Honda scooter.
Eversole was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. He’s being held in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
