City of Carbondale offers emergency alert system

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale has implemented an emergency alert system, allowing residents to receive critical information via text message, email, pager or voice mail.

The CivicPlus Mass Notification System, also known as CivicReady, will be used to disseminate emergency alerts, as well as non-emergency incidents that may significantly impact residents.

Examples of messages sent through the system include public safety alerts, fire department press releases and city hall announcements.

Residents can provide their address and preferred method of contact to receive tailored alerts. Standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply.
