Carbondale police arrest suspect in residential burglary case

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Brian K. Adams, 43, of Carbondale, was arrested on August 10 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, in connection with a residential burglary and vehicle theft.

Adams was taken into custody by Mt. Vernon police while they were investigating an unrelated crime. He was wanted on a warrant for residential burglary and motor vehicle theft, and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting transfer to Jackson County.

The arrest stems from a July 8 burglary in the 500 block of Deer Trail, where suspects stole a vehicle and burglarized a residence. Gerald D. Stroud, 40, of Vergennes, Illinois, was previously arrested in connection with the crime.
