Carbondale to host Halloween Homecoming Music Street Festival Oct. 24

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Carbondale is shutting down the Strip once again, this time for the Carbondale Halloween Homecoming Music Street Festival on Friday, Oct. 24.

The event combines two of the city’s most popular traditions—Carbondale Halloween and Southern Illinois University’s Homecoming—into one evening of live music, food, vendors and family-friendly activities.

Highlights include a street festival with children’s and adults’ costume contests, as well as performances on two stages:

Main Stage

Keller Williams Presents DeadPettyKellerGrass, 6:30–8 p.m.

The Urge, 8:30–10 p.m.

Parking Lot Stage

Modern Day Saints featuring Tawl Paul and others, 3:50–4:50 p.m.

Hot Like Mars, 5:20–6:20 p.m.

The event is presented by Hangar 9, the City of Carbondale, SIU Alumni Association, Carbondale Main Street, Southern Illinois University’s Student Programming Council, Koerner Distributor Inc., Carbondale Tourism and 95.1 STEVE FM.
