VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities responded Tuesday afternoon after part of an abandoned two-story building collapsed in downtown Vienna, officials said.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said dispatchers received a 911 call at 1:55 p.m. reporting the collapse at 124 N. Fourth St.

Responding agencies included the Vienna Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service and Johnson County EMA. Vienna Public Works, Mayor Steve Penrod and city aldermen also were on scene.

No injuries were reported.

Out of caution, Penrod issued an executive order prohibiting occupancy of neighboring buildings — the State Farm Insurance office at 126 N. Fourth St. and apartments above Cross Creek Antiques at 122 N. Fourth St. — until structural evaluations can be completed.
