Sikeston police arrest suspect in double shooting on West Gladys Street

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) – A Sikeston man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left two people injured late Friday night, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

\Just before midnight on Oct. 31, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunfire in the 800 block of West Gladys Street. While responding, officers were flagged down near the scene by a man who had been shot.

As officers searched for the source of the gunfire, a second victim with gunshot wounds was found inside an apartment in the same block. Both victims were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Their names have not been released.

Investigators determined that a domestic disturbance occurred at the apartment, during which a male suspect allegedly shot both victims. The suspect was identified as Kyle Hill, of Sikeston.

Hill was arrested Sunday, Nov. 2, on a no-bond warrant issued through Scott County. He is being held on the following charges:

  • Domestic Assault, 1st Degree
  • Assault, 1st Degree
  • Two counts of Armed Criminal Action
  • Two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
