Conservation agents tag hundreds of bobcat, otter pelts at Montgomery City Fur Auction

MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Conservation agents with the Missouri Department of Conservation attended a fur auction Saturday in Montgomery City, where dozens of experienced and first-time trappers gathered to sell furs.

Agents tagged hundreds of bobcat and river otter pelts during the event, an обязатель step required before the pelts can be sold, transferred, tanned or mounted, according to the department.

State regulations require that bobcats and their pelts, as well as river otter pelts, be delivered to a conservation agent for registration and tagging before April 10.

Officials encourage trappers with questions about tagging requirements to contact their local conservation agent for more information.
